Antonia’s Top Ten Tuesday: Thanksgiving

fullsizeoutput_26e4

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is a list that’s Thanksgiving related. I’m going with my favorite things about Thanksgiving.

My birthday- It doesn’t fall exactly on Thanksgiving every year but it’s usually pretty close.

Family/ friends- I don’t live close to my loved ones anymore but we always make a point to FaceTime and catch up on holidays.

Mashed potatoes

Cranberry relish- My grandmother would make this every year and it’s amazing.

Fresh rolls

Ham- I have a giant family (fifteen or more people at dinner would not be unusual) so we always had turkey too but the ham was my favorite.

Being able to officially start the Christmas season

Apple Pie

So many leftovers

Having a day off before Black Friday madness

What are your favorite things about Thanksgiving?

Amanda’s Top Ten Tuesday – Things I’m Thankful For

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week we talk about our top ten with a different topic provided by Jana. This week’s topic is Thanksgiving/I’m Thankful for… Freebie. I’m going to list my favorite things about Thanksgiving.

Friends and/or family getting together (I live far from most of my family, so it’s usually friends)

Sweet Potatoes, the way my step-mom makes them.

Pumpkin Pie

Cranberry Apple Crisp, the way my Aunt makes it.

Stuffing, duh.

Fall weather (all the pretty leaves!)

Cozy reading weather

Deviled eggs. I don’t know if this is a normal thanksgiving thing, but my step-mom always makes them as a before dinner snack and I love them so much.

Cranberry Apple Bread (it’s delicious trust me)

Texting/talking with friends. Many of my friends and I don’t talk as often now that I’m always busy with a two-year-old but around the holidays we usually reach out to one another and catch up. I love having these holiday check ins and having friends that are super understanding about my not great communication skills.

What did you choose for this weeks topic?

Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
