Blogtober Day Twenty-Five: 2020 Releases I Recommend

Hey, lovelies! This list will be all about books that have been or will be released in 2020. I have actually been really good about reading the new releases I bought this year, so I have some good ones for this list. Honestly, at this point I’m sure most of these have managed to be on my other lists as well but I’m running out of ideas.

Spellhacker by M.K. England: Magic comes from the earth and this found family is going to steal it, but things don’t go according to plan.

Be Not Far From Me by Mindy McGinnis: A girl gets lost in the woods and breaks her leg. It’s pretty gruesome and there’s the question of whether she will ever make it back out of the woods.

The Deck of Omens by Christine Lynn Herman: This sequel was the best. The first book follows four families that have special abilities they’re supposed to use to protect the town. Things get weird. There’s a creepy monster in whatever the hell ‘the gray’ is. There some queer teens. And lots of family secrets.

This Coven Won’t Break by Isabel Sterling: Another sequel that was great and filled with queer teens. I think I liked the first book better, but I still really enjoyed this one.

Hideaway by Nora Roberts: Nora Roberts books are always great. I’m not even going to tell you what it’s about. But there are books involved, sort of.

Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power: Margot is searching for her family. But when she finds her grandmother, there’s nothing but secrets. Also, more queer teens.

The Game by Linsey Miller: The seniors start their annual game of assassin. It’s what Lia has been looking forward to for years. But this year, people are actually dying.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust: This is a mix of Persian mythology and fairytales mixed together to make a fascinating fantasy. It’s also the year for queer books because this one has a delectable love triangle.

The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher: This was horrifying and gory and suspenseful. I loved every single page. I cannot recommend this enough.

I Hope You’re Listening by Tom Ryan: This was a great mystery/thriller filled with questions. Ten years after Dee witnesses her best friend being kidnapped another girl goes missing. Dee has started a podcast to cope with her best friend never being found. She helps solve other missing persons cases with assistance from the internet that listens to her podcast.

These are the 2020 releases that I’ve already read and would definitely recommend for the spooky season. I really enjoyed all of them. What 2020 releases have you read that you would recommend for me this month?

Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.

  1. I loved Spellhacker! I’m really hoping it gets a sequel. I Hope You’re Listening is very high on my never-ending TBR pile, I’ve been seeing a lot of people talking about it this week.

  2. So far I’ve only read three of these and definitely need to pick up some of the others! Like Girl, Serpent Thorn and Be Not Far From Me!
