Hi, lovelies! Happy August! It’s my favorite month of the year (because it’s my birthday month) so I’m super excited that I will be participating in the N.E.W.T.s Readathon this year! I’ve finally chosen a career after skipping that part of this fabulous readathon (hosted by G over at Book Roast!) during the O.W.L. Exams in April. You can see my wrap up for that here. I have decided that the Librarian career is the one that fits me best. So, I will be focusing on the challenges that fulfill the requirements for that, but I will still be attempting to complete all the prompts.
N.E.W.T.s Needed for Librarian Career:
O in Ancient Runes
E in Defense Against the Dark Arts
E in History of Magic
A: Ehwaz (partnership) – Read recommended by a friend
Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
E: Book written in the past tense
Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly
O: Book that has been on your TBR for ages
Heretics Anonymous by Emily Henry
Defense Against the Dark Arts
A: Book that’s black under the dust jacket
Heroine by Mindy McGinnis
E: Gilderoy’s memory charm (grab a pen!) – First book that you remembered just now from your TBR!
Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman
O: Cornish pixie! – Swat it away with a book written by an English author or set in England
The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr
History of Magic
A: Read a fantasy
Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody
E: Read a book that includes a map
These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch
O: Tom Riddle’s diary – fond memory – reread a favorite or read a classic
Looking for Alaska by John Green
These are the prompts that I will be focusing on so that I am qualified for my new career as a Librarian! But I will still be aiming to complete all thirty-six challenges because I like to be an overachiever. For the rest of the prompts I won’t have a set TBR and will just be picking up books that work for the prompts as I see fit.
Will you be participating in this round of the Magical Readathon? Let me know what you’ll be reading this month below!
Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda
