Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week we talk about our top ten with a different topic provided by Jana. This week’s topic is top ten – Settings I’d like to see more (or at all)
Contemporary:
Boarding Schools
College!
Anything set in Ireland
New England (specifically a dystopian story)
The beach! Never too many stories at the beach.
Fantasy:
Alternate realities (eg. The Calculating Stars)
Near future dystopian (eg. Dry)
Not European based fantasy (eg. Shadow of the Fox)
Not Greek/Roman mythology (eg. Aru Shah and the End of Time)
A world where magic exists in modern times. (eg. Summer of Salt)
This week I’m using the word “setting” loosely because I don’t really have favorite settings. But I can’t wait to see what everyone else has to say about this week’s topic. Let me know your choices for Top Ten Tuesday.
Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
Great list! I need to read more books set in Ireland, too – it’s a setting I’ve somehow neglected. You might enjoy Daughter of the Forest if you haven’t already read it!
I haven’t! I’ll have to look that up. Nora Roberts has some great books that are set in Ireland!
I’d love to see non-European fantasy stories as well.
My TTT.
I have a few on my shelf I’m excited to get to thankfully!
I always love a good alternate reality. 🙂

Same! Have you read The Calculating Stars?
