Hi, lovelies! I’m sure you’re thinking, “Amanda, how can you have any contemporary books left to read after Contemporary January?” And yet, I still have plenty of books to participate in this fabulous readathon hosted by Chelsea Dolling Reads, Natasha @ My Reading is Odd, Julie @ Pens and Pages, and Melanie @ Mel to the Any. This readathon will be happening starting Monday, February 11th through Sunday, February 17th.
There are seven challenges for contemporaryathon. I have picked a book for each challenge because I’m always overly ambitious. The challenges and the books I have chosen are as follows.
Read the most recent contemporary book you purchased/acquired
Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Read a book with blurple (blue or purple lol) on the cover
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
Read a diverse contemporary (keeping in mind that it is Black History Month!)
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Read a dark/emotional/hard-hitting contemporary
A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti
Read a contemporary that you meant to read in 2018 but didn’t
Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak
Read a contemporary in a non-traditional format
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
Read a contemporary with some sort of picture on the spine
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
These are the books on my TBR list for Contemporary-A-Thon! I’m going to do my best to read all of them, but who knows what will happen. Are you going to participate in this readathon? What will you be reading?
Keep on reading lovelies, Amanda.
